Good news for all fans of The Equalizer. Hollywood actor Denzel Washington is officially returning for the third installment of the future franchise, The Equalizer 3. But what can we expect? One thing we can give away – it seems very likely that the third part of the film will be set in Europe.
The Equalizer
The film is based on the 1980s TV show of the same name. In 2014, the American actor took on the role of Robert McCall. Nevertheless, the film received mixed reactions upon its release. The criticism was mainly due to the amount of horror seen in the first and second parts.
For example, people could not understand the entertainment value of Washington killing his henchmen with a nail gun in the film. Still, most of the audience ate the film up like a hot sandwich, as did we. In total, the production brought in over $192 million.

The role Washington played in Man on Fire was the moment when the general public saw that this kind of role was right up his alley. The second was released in 2018, but there was never any talk of a franchise until now. The Oscar winner spoke with Collider about, among other things, The Tragedy of Macbeth, Joel Coen’s new Shakespeare adaptation.
During the interview for Collider, he was asked about his plans for the upcoming year. His answer was loud and clear: “They’ve written the third Equalizer, so that’s what I’m going to do. So I got to get in shape and beat people up again. I get to beat people up again. The tragedy of Macbeth and then go beat up some people. Couldn’t be better, right?’

Antoine Fuqua, who has been responsible for the previous Equalizer films so far, is also expected to return for the third installment. For the rest, it is still largely unclear what exactly the third part will be about. However, Antoine did hint:
In my mind, The Equalizer 3 is a European adventure. In my mind, that’s what I would like, to see it in Europe in the future, God willing.’ In any case, we can’t wait for more clarity. We’ll keep you posted.
